Long time no Write

Wow, has it been a long time! School this year has really taken up a lot of my time. I mean there have been other times I could have written but I was always resting for the next week of hard work at school. I've also been doing a lot of horseback riding. Almost every weekend I wake up at four in the morning and come home around noon. This weekend I didn't though. I'm too busy working on the nursery mats for my church. Man, have they been hard work. Today will make it a full week we've been working on them. We're going to give them all out to the nursery kids the week before Christmas. We were planning on making 80 so as to stock up for future nursery kids to come, but we kind of got too much fabric. We ended up cutting 120 pieces of fabric and that's just for the top. For the bottom we ended up cutting 90 pieces.
The process of making these mats?:
1)First we cut all of our fabric into 20X18 sized squares.
2)Then we used our cricut to cut all of the fabric for the nursery kids' names.
3)Using the cricut, we had to peel off all the names, not an easy task let me tell you when your cricut doesn't really cut them all the way and you have to use little scissors to cut them all the way out.
4)After that we ironed all of the names onto the fabric.
5)Then came the fun part! I got to sew all the names onto the fabric.
6)Then we pinned and sewed all the top and bottom pieces of fabric together.
7)After that, we cut all around the mats so as to tie the end pieces together. You'll understand better once I put pictures on.
8)The mats are finished!
Can you see how this is going to be a ten or more hour project?

Getting Closer to a Cowgirl

Ever since I was little I always dreamed to be a cowgirl someday. Although, now that I'm getting closer to it, maybe I could just be a half cowgirl. Just kidding, who goes around and says, "Hey half cowgirl!"? No, it just doesn't work. Well, I know a lot of people are probably wondering what I'm even talking about right now so let me tell ya. My grandma says I can't be a real cowgirl until I've been bucked off and can show everybody that I can get back on after I'm bucked off. Well I still haven't been bucked off a horse (That one can wait) but I have been scraped off, nearly hitting my head on a tree branch in the process, and, just recently, I half fell and half jumped off a galloping horse after losing my stirrups. I know, I need to work on my riding. Although my mom says I need to work on my falling and my dad says, "Tuck, drop, and roll." I'm not on fire, Dad! No, my response to that one was,"Dad, maybe I'll try that next time but I was too busy trying to land on my back instead of my front, not hitting my head too hard, and especially not getting pulled in under the horse." Ouch! I try not to think of that one. I called after Pistol but he was running wild and free. Actually, I think he just wanted to look that way so I wouldn't come after him. Five minutes later, when Diane caught up, we found him around the bend eating grass. Yep, he's a smart one all right. That does show you how fast I was going though if it took Diane on her horse five minutes to catch up to me. Well, that was my weekend. How about yours?

Being Tagged

Well I've been tagged. Here are seven fun little facts about myself.

1)What is you favorite book?
Oh, that's a hard one. I think I can narrow it down to four series though: The Twilight series, The Fablehaven series, The Ranger's Apprentice series, and The Inkheart series. And there's a lot more where that came from.

2)Do you like the horses you ride Pistol or Joe better?
Now that's impossible to decide. Joe's more smooth than Pistol but Pistol obeys better than Joe.

3)What's your favorite hair style?
I like just one regular braid down the middle although I'm still working on doing it myself.

4)What's your favorite movie?
I can't decide although I'm sure it's going to be Twilight when it comes out. My mom would like it to be Pride and Prejudice. First I'm going to have to be able to sit through it though.

5)What's your favorite store?
Definitely Sheplers but I do wish they'd lower their prices a little.

6)What's your favorite subject in school?
I like math although I'm good in all of them.

7)Who's your favorite teacher?
Definitely Mr. Wepfer even though he picks on me a lot. Although, I do know he has a soft spot for me otherwise he wouldn't have bothered to give me a nickname. (My nickname's Broke) You see, my very first report I turned in to that class I spelled his name wrong. Well he got so upset he's determined to get me back by not only spelling my name wrong but pronouncing it wrong as well. He also has to get me back from "blackmailing" him into not cussing during class.

Well, that's me. Now I got to go tell Brant and Izaak they've been tagged! Woohoo! This is going to be fun.

Joe and Jerome

Hey everybody! Yesterday I went to see the old horse I used to care take, Joe. And when I say old horse I mean old horse. Joe was old when I had him. Now he's even older. I was a little scared to ride him too much so as not to ware him out. My cousin, Katie, came with me and we took turns riding him. That was another reason for me not to wear him out. I didn't want him just to run for me and not for her. Well, I didn't ride him for very long but I did get to help feed some of the horses and for me just getting to see him was enough. I loved riding him though. You've got to remember I've been riding an Arabian these past months and compared to him, Joe's trot is just heavenly. I can actually post with him! Last summer we tried to keep him down here instead of sending him back up near Prescott like we usually do. The heat down here was really hard on him and he wasn't eating very much, which we found out the reason yesterday was because his teeth are getting really bad. He can't eat hay anymore. Well because he got so skinny down here and wasn't eating I was a little worried about him. He's so old I don't think he can make another five years. That's mainly the whole reason I wanted to see him; before he dies. I usually cry a lot when an animal I know has died but I don't think I'll cry too much with Joe. Not that I don't love him, quite the opposite in fact, but it is his time to go. I'll miss him here on Earth but I do know that I will get to see Joe again. And when I do he probably isn't going to be an old horse anymore.
Well after seeing Joe my mom took Katie and I to go see Jerome. We got there a little late so all the stores were closed but, luckily, the Haunted Hamburger was still open. Katie was amazing! She ate all of her Hamburger plus some of her fries and some onion rings. It makes you wonder why she's still so skinny. My mom and I couldn't finish ours but we brought them home. After the Haunted Hamburger we went to a park. Katie and I had fun going down the slide and swinging on the swing set. Then my mom taught us a new game on the monkey bars. It was tag but one part of you always had to be touching the monkey bars. Meaning you could be on the ground but either your hand or foot had to be on the monkey bars. We played with all of us but obviously we couldn't get pictures of all all of us playing so we have pictures of two of us at a time playing. I accidentally broke my mom's picture key chain on her keys. It just broke off though and she thinks she can fix it. I hope so. After the park we went to a hotel's gift shop. I got a new necklace and Katie got a bookmark. My mom got a brochure. After that we went home since it was getting dark and Gerome isn't exactly the place you want to be stuck in at night. We saw the remains of the jail house that slid down the mountain too. Katie was a little freaked out about that part. Well we had a lot of fun yesterday with Joe and Jerome. I know I wrote a lot but it I couldn't exactly write about seeing Joe and Jerome in one paragraph. I'll probably write some more on my blog soon but in the meantime I guess I'll catch you later.

The Courtyard

Hey guys! Last night I slept in the courtyard. It was so much fun. I woke up a couple times only to see the moon and stars above me. They would have shown brighter though if it weren't for the freeway lights being so bright. I didn't have to be afraid of the dark though. I loved the wind throughout the night. Not too much; not too cold. It was just a slight breeze through the treetops. Izaak is going to sleep with me out in the courtyard tonight since I'm doing it again. It wasn't just last night I was in the courtyard though. The whole day I was in and out reading my book climbing the tree and climbing the wall. My mom took some pictures of me in the day and my dad took some of me early this morning when I was still asleep.

The Movie Theaters

I've always loved going to the movies. Today I went with my cousins to go see Prince Caspian. It was so cool except I made the mistake of not going to the bathroom first so for the last half of the movie I was really having to go. Plus the movie didn't start until twelve minutes after it was supposed to thanks to the theater people forgetting to start it. My uncle, Uncle Dale, went and told them. After the movie was over I immediately ran to the bathrooms telling my Aunt Kathy I would meet her there. But when I got to the bathrooms the line was already trailing way out into the hall. Knowing my dad was already outside and thinking I would be able to get to the bathroom at home sooner I grabbed Izaak and ran to dad. Well, my mom made me go back in with her to try and find Aunt Kathy and tell her where we were. Aunt Kathy had already left but I did get to go to the bathroom so the trip inside wasn't a total waste. My mom told me how it wasn't right to leave without telling Aunt Kathy where I'd gone even though I had told my cousin, Katy, where I was going. I can see why and I know I should have but at the time the bathroom had just seemed more important. Well, back to the movie, Prince Caspian, it was really good. Diffidently one to own. You should go see it sometime. The only thing is, I noticed that Peter was a little better at his acting in the first one. There were a couple lines that he could have said more enthusiastically. They were all very good though and I love the ending. I won't spoil it for you though so you can keep reading. In the meantime I guess I'll catch you later.

Con and Finals

Hey guys! Guess what? I just found out that apparently I still will be riding horses after Pistol's sold. Diane's friend, Lancet, has just asked me to start riding her horse, Con, after Pistol's gone. I'll be doing the exact same type of riding and I'll probably still ride with the same people but with a different horse! I've ridden Con before and he's a very nice horse, not as bumpy as Pistol but not as fast either. He's also white and very gentle. I'm looking forward to our rides together. I like Lancet too. She's a very nice and patient woman. I can see why Diane and her are friends and I'm looking forward to getting to know her better.
Anyway, enough about that. I know some of you were wondering how I did on my Spanish Finals. I did much better than I expected with a "B". I think it was mostly because I studied day and night for it I was so worried. Another part of it, I think, is that my Spanish teacher, Mr. Shannon, told me right before the test that even if I bombed it it would only bring my grade down to a "B-". That took a lot of the stress off. All my other classes said that if we bombed our finals it would bring us two to three letter grades down. Luckily, I did good on all those finals too. So now you know. I passed all of my classes. I am now officially a freshman! Woohoo!

Last Day of School

Well I've finally got the chance to write again, on the last day of school. My finals kept me pretty busy though. My weekends have been spent either studying for finals, going riding, babysitting, or resting from studying for finals, going riding, and babysitting. My last ride was really fun although I had to take a nap afterwards. Diane Fullmor, the sister in our ward that I ride with, has finally got a person interested in buying Pistol. Pistol's the horse that I ride. Our last ride she had to video tape me riding him so as to show that he's a good horse and a good horse to ride. It's making me a little nervous. After Pistol's gone I won't have any horse to ride. Although, I am going to volunteer at the therapy zone down the street this summer.
Anyway, that's enough about my weekends; let me tell you about my last day of school today. It was a bit scary and frustrating. My biggest thing happened during lunch. Gunnar Renee, a boy in my math class, hit his head on two poles one after the other and got knocked unconscious. All I saw, after I came out of the cafeteria, was two ambulances parked out front and firemen surrounding him and trying to cut his shirt off. He was still unconscious and it looked like he was having trouble breathing because his chest was falling very unevenly as if he was trying to get some air but couldn't. The frustrating thing about all of this though, is that the whole time as I was watching this my dad kept calling me eight times in a row and I couldn't answer my phone without it getting taken away. I tried to call him back but he wouldn't answer. So the whole day I was worried about what dad possibly could have called me eight times in a row for. My mind came up with some very scary situations and emergencies like what if my grandpa was in the hospital again or if one of my family members got hurt, but after school I found out it was nothing of the sort. My dad, thinking he was calling Brant instead of me, was trying to pick Brant up from school and apparently Brant wasn't answering. This was me however that wasn't answering and it did drive me nuts during lunch. Besides the lunch incident my last day of school was very good. My teacher Mr. Wepfer picked on me again but that's just to be expected. So I guess I'll catch you guys later. Love you!

Spanish Finals

Hey guys! I know I only just wrote yesterday but the only reason I didn't add this then was because it would have become an essay. There's so much happening at school right now with the finals I'm having a hard time finding time to write. I feel pretty confident about all my finals except Spanish. The only reason I have good grades in Spanish is because I always use a Spanish dictionary. I'm not allowed to use one of those on the test. My Spanish teacher, Mr. Shannon, says there's three parts to the test: a speaking part, a writing part, and a multiple choice part. I'm not too worried about the speaking part since he gave a study guide for that one, the multiple choice I can at least guess the answer, but I'm not really looking forward to the essay part. Well, my dad is wanting to get onto the computer so I'd better go. He has more important stuff to do than me so See you later.

Riding Pistol

Well I went riding yesterday. It wasn't as long a ride though, so I'm not really sore. I think I'm getting better. I'm riding an Arabian and if you know Arabians they're very outgoing and they love to take off and run. His name is Pistol and the entire ride he was trotting which wasn't very fun since I had to stand up the entire time because his trot is sooo bumpy, but after a while I got used to it and didn't even notice. It did take a while though. Although, I did have a good time and Pistol has come to learn to behave when I'm on him. My first few rides on Pistol weren't very fun since he's the kind of horse that likes to see what he can get away with. He is the only chance I get to ride though, so I still love him. Even though Pistol loves to run and take off he's also very focused. He even sidestepped a branch for me as we were riding so I wouldn't hit it. He almost never stumbles and is actually a very fun horse to ride. Yah, well that's basically it. I guess I'll write more when the time comes but until then catch you later.

It's Been a Busy Week

Well I'm back. Man, I thought writing in my blog would be easy and I would be able to do it every day but it's been a week since I last even looked at it. It's been a busy week. School is getting harder along with me finding free time. Yesterday Brant and I weeded the yard. Sheesh! It took us almost the whole day! Then my mom and I went out the next day and found we still missed some. Although, after weeding the yard I did get to push Izaak in the pool. That was fun, but then I let my guard down and he got me back. Good thing my cell phone wasn't in my pocket! Well I didn't get to go riding this week but as soon as I do I'll tell you about it. My riding days do ware me out though so you probably won't hear about it until about two days later. I am feeding some horses though. A sister in our ward, the one who I ride with, is out of town so I'm feeding her horses for her. I told her I wouldn't except any payment this time though. My payment is just her letting me ride. Well I'd better go before this becomes a story instead of a post so I guess I'll see you next time.

My Blog Spot

Hey Guys! I finally have a blog spot and, I know, it's just totally awesome! The past few days I've probably driven my mom crazy with asking her to help me with everything. I love the waterfall in the background. This way I can write just about anything where otherwise if I had a horse background I probably would have to just write about horses. Although, you're probably still going to hear lots about horses. Not to mention that they're the best and only best animal in the whole wide world. (Especially Joe) Well, I'm really excited and I'm going to try to write in my blog spot every day, at least if anything exciting happened that day. In the meantime I guess I'll just catch you later.
